To attempt or not to attempt doing laundry in the bathroom sink…THAT is the question?
Of course we decided that this attempt wouldn’t be worthwhile, since each girl has approximately five pounds of laundry to do a piece.
No, this wasn’t the highlight of our day! The highlight was our very first meeting with the Health Services Executive (HSE). After class, each group met to start working on their secondary research and individual assignments. I went on a very QUICK (but efficient) run around the block then got dressed in business casual for the meeting.
The HSE basically laid out the ground-work of what they’re looking for from us and the parameters to which we need to work. There are two different channels that have to be met over the course of a month. One, on an academic level, we must use the research methods we've already learned and apply them to our campaign. This involvea doing an actual project book for the end of the term. Two, on a professional level they want us to actually GIVE a communication model for them to use, and actually reach out to these young girls and parents.
It’s going to be a very fulfilling but stressful project.
After meeting I realized I needed to get my life together in terms of money, phone, and food, so we decided to hit up O’Connell street in search of some grease. I “topped off” my phone, as they would say here, and met the girls at Eddie Rockets- a chain here in Ireland filled with burgers, fries and amazing chocolate sundaes. After “topping off” food and phone we headed back to campus to rally, and of course, hit up Temple Bar area.
