DAY 24

"When one is in town one amuses oneself. When one is in the country one amuses other people."

My dear friend Jack of "The Importance of Being Earnest" speaks the truth, and I ventured into town with Mr.B for some much needed amusing of my own.

Ever since I passed the Gaiety Theatre my first day here in Dublin, one image has been branded in my mind- the picture of Stockard Channing as Lady Bracknell. Channing is BY FAR my favorite actress in Grease (Rizzo) and she was absolutely brilliant in the West Wing. She's won multiple Tony awards, including Best Actress for "A Day In the Death of Joe Egg."

Ok, ok I know that I'm sounding like mummsie right now, but if you know me then you know I appreciate the arts! Plus, Earnest is one of my favorite plays that I've watched since I first started acting.

With that said, the play was magnificent. Absolutely in it's truest form, just as Oscar Wilde would have wanted it. The theatre was intimate yet stunning; reminded me of an off-Broadway stage.

Endless laughter.

INCREDIBLE actor playing Algernon (by far the best I've seen).

And delicious cocktails at the Shelbourne Hotel made this night out-on-the town my favorite yet.

"Gwendolen, it is a terrible thing for a man to find out suddenly that all his life he has been speaking nothing but the truth. Can you forgive me?" <3
